The Jornadas Internacionales de Violín (JIV) de Primavera (Spring International Violin Days in Navacerrada) are held by internationally acclaimed violinist Mikhail Pochekin who is actively involved in pedagogy, giving master-classes worldwide including the Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and the College of Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
«Navacerrada is a wonderful place. It’s just a couple of minutes away from my house, where my family has been living for over 20 years. It was here, in Navacerrada, where I offered my first concert as a child after moving over to Europe. I am really happy to have the chance of teaching here and sharing my knowledge and expertise with young musicians.»
The 2026 Spring JIV will be held from 14th to 17th May ending with a final concert of young violin students participants of the Spring JIV at Teatro de la Casa de la Cultura on May 17th, at 19:30 h. At the same time as the masterclasses, there will be some other activities to encourage community participation and disseminate the culture of violin and classical music such as a conference, a reading club…
Navacerrada is a municipality located in Sierra de Guadarrama, 52 kilometers (32 mi) from Madrid. It lies on the entrance of the beautiful valley of La Barranca at an elevation of 1,203 metres (3,947 ft).
